care, long block quote:
Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle in the U.S. state of Washington. When? This is controversial. Some people say 1946 or 47, the others claim it would have been 11/27/1945. These inaccuracies are symptomatic, as Jimi Hendrix coming from the slums of the poor and oppressed. As a colored person, he met the excesses and vulgarities of racial discrimination and exploitation. Hunger, poverty and social insecurity were not foreign to him. They impressed themselves deeply into his soul.
sought in music making Jimi Hendrix what life denied him and his ilk: Love, happiness, security, freedom. As a child, had his musical expression will no longer than a few empty boxes available. But this "drum" was enough to make him understand the jolting negro African rhythms. At 15, he was given a guitar. In inventing unusual melodies showed an early talent are unspoilt. 1961 Jimi Hendrix was called. The service in the U.S. Army let him see much clearer. The fact is that he then packed his belongings, in the southern United States, traveled a considerable time in Nashville (the center of American folk singer) stayed and accompanied soul musicians such as BB King and Little Richard, in their title the soul (English Soul), the thoughts and feelings of the colored people dominated. Initial attempts to emulate the great blues and soul singers failed. And yet, Hendrix's desire to seek new ways musically noticed. In a New York City Rhythm & Blues-establishment, he was in the summer of 1966 by Chas Chandler, ex-bassist of the British group "Animals" is part. Hendrix was the invitation to try his luck in London. The very first concert of the newly formed trio "Jimi Hendrix Experience with Noel Redding (bass guitar) and Mitch Mitchell (drums) was a complete success. Titles like "The Wind Cries Mary" were real hits. Hendrix's unusual way, involving all the guitar electro-acoustic sounds to wrest new possibilities, his virtuoso variation and invention of melodies and harmonies found unexpected resonance. His eccentric appearance and manner play triggered the other, of even date. Critics called to Hendrix: "I try on the stage to be honest and I to stay even."
In an effort to give shape to his feelings musically shot, Hendrix occasionally go over the top: He broke and negated existing musical forms and laws, without identifying new relationships. His own best creations - and to listened to the selection - have established him in the creative as a musician who knows his world to make convincing. "My world - that hunger, these are the flowers, and the happiness of the kind that you can hold it in your hand."
Hendrix took the summer of 1967 an American tour. The success prompted him to continue to occur mainly in the United States. 1968 voted him the American music magazine Billboard artist of the year. What went on in the time to Hendrix, is an expression of increasing hunted one between artistic will and the limits of class society. He picked up the drug to be desired in the Hinüberzuträumen freedom. In May 1969 he was arrested for possession of hashish and heroin. When asked by the court president, whether he was taking drugs, he replied: "I have outgrown the"
expression of the troubled seeking new ways is that Hendrix increasingly joined the support groups. In the spring of 1969 he took the last European tour with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. He then retired to Los Angeles and announced the formation of the trio "A Band Of Gypsies" (with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles bass guitar, drums) are known. In between he played with the black blues guitarist from Memphis, modern jazz and representatives of the artist new music together.
The fulfillment of his life was to bring established with Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchel Group, "The Cry Of Love". She gave a long-playing record's name. It was the last of the talented musician. On 18 September 1970 he died, 24 years old, victim of a merciless show business.
With "The Cry Of Love Jimi Hendrix left his musical legacy. Looking ahead, it says the track "Straight Ahead": "... but I can not make it to ... what you know, do not be lazy, do what you preach, for it is time for you and me, the reality in the face of look ... "
